These nominations confirm the success that all of these artists have had in the past year. In 2015’s All Africa Music Awards (Afrima), AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Yemi Alade and Diamond Platnumz respectively won the Best African Collaboration, the Best Artist in African Hip Hop, the Best Female Artist in West Africa, and the Artist of the Year awards. DJ Black Coffee won the Breakthrough Artist of the Year award at the 18th annual DJ Awards in Ibiza. MzVee was elected Best New Artiste Of The Year at the 2015 Ghana music Awards, and Nigerian artist Wizkid is cruising through international stardom after collaborating with well-established artists like Drake.
