A political party in Kenya has made a very bizarre announcement. Vincent Kidaha, the leader of the Republican Liberty Party, announced that his party will respond to U.S. President Barack Obama’s visit with a protest of 5,000 undressed party members. The protest is planned to happen sometime between July 22nd and July 23rd.

Why?

This planned protest is to show the party’s disapproval of Obama’s pro-LGBT stance. This is the party that proposed a controversial anti-LGBT law to Parliament that includes punishments of life in prison for Kenyans convicted for gays and lesbians and stoning to death for foreigners. “Our very objective is that Obama can see from a distance the difference between a man and woman,” Kidaha said. “The procession shall be carried out by approximately 5,000 totally naked men and women to protest over the United States of America President Barack Obama’s open and aggressive support for gays and lesbians.”

It Gets Even Weirder

Kidaha also said that the protestors will have to leave their clothes in a “big bag” when they arrive at the site. He added that the protesters would be partially made up of a network of prostitutes who are concerned about gays and lesbians negatively affecting their business. “Women are still there in Africa; we are not insufficient of men or women in Africa. That is why we allow men to marry … more than two wives. In America, to marry another wife is a taboo. It’s a criminal offense. So we are telling you that in Africa, it is a taboo for a black man who has roots in Africa to come and talk issues of intimacy where your aunts are listening,” Kidaha stated, referencing Obama’s relatives in Kenya. Despite being threatened with a mass, the president does not intend to keep quiet on LBGT issues.
