According to the ILO, the number of child workers in the world has declined from 246 to 168 million since 2000. While this statistic presents a significant improvement, the figures for Asian and African children are quite alarming. Child workers represent 9.3% of the total children in Asia, and 21% of youngsters in Africa.

According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), close to 13 million children are involved in manufacturing goods.
