In manager Manuel Pellegrini’s last public act as Manchester City’s coach, the Citizens clinched their Champions League spot by drawing with Swansea 1-1. Ivorian midfielder Yaya Touré, who is also rumored to leave Manchester City, convinced his manager to surprise one fan.

Great memories

As a token of appreciation towards City fans who traveled to South Wales, Manchester City players distributed shirts and mementos after the match. As Pellegrini was bidding farewell, Yaya Toure asked his manager to give a present to a fan. The Chilean manager emptied his pockets, removed his jacket and gave it to a fan who seemed super excited to receive the gift.

“It was a way to say thanks to the fans,” the coach said. “I always appreciate the support of the fans, the way they appreciate the style of the team, it is very important to win titles but also the style you win.”

Pellegrini, who won one Premier League title and two League Cups with Manchester City, will be replaced by Catalan coach Pep Guardiola this summer.
