Several rumors have been circulating online hinting at a record deal between Nigerian diva Tiwa Savage and hip-hop mogul Jay Z. Tiwa Savage, the Nigerian songbird, and Don Jazzy, CEO of Mavin Records, have been teasing a potential partnership with a major record label for a while now. It seems like the rumors have been confirmed.
Tiwa Savage and Don Jazzy recently made the trip to New York to meet Jay Z and snapped a picture with him. The CEO of Roc Nation had expressed an interest in exploring the African music scene when he sent his cousin Briant “Bee-High” Biggs to Nigeria to find local talent. Tiwa Savage, Don Jazzy and Jay Z were supposedly finalizing a management and publishing deal between Tiwa Savage and Roc Nation. The Nigerian diva is not a stranger to the U.S. music scene. In the past, she signed a music and publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing and has received and several songwriting credits for collaborating with artists such as Snoop Dogg, Monica and Kat Deluna. She has also performed background vocals for Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan and Blu Cantrell among others.
