Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, better known as famous Snoop Dogg, distributed turkeys to families in Inglewood, California. The American holiday, Thanksgiving, is coming up and turkey is the traditional meal of the day. Many families cannot afford to set the table for the feast as turkey can be quite expensive.
His second home
Snoop loves Inglewood, where his production crew is headquartered, his second home. This is the second year he participates in the city’s Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway and this year, the city was able to give away 1,500 turkeys to the poor.

He wanted to give back
Last year, Snoop Dogg met with Mayor Butts of Inglewood in the rapper’s headquarters. Snoop told the mayor that he wanted to give back to the community, and the mayor suggested he could help give out turkeys before Thanksgiving. The giveaway allows families in need to bring some holiday cheer to their houses.
He wants to do this every year
The rapper arrived a little late to the event and joked:
“I was late today because I was talking to Santa Claus about a Christmas special and I said, ‘Santa I gotta get to Inglewood to pass out these turkeys.’ He was like, ‘Well hold on.’ I said, ‘Well hold on Santa I’ve got people waiting on me’ so I’m happy I’m here, Inglewood you know I love y’all.” He expressed his love for the city and said “I just want to let y’all know I’m gonna be doing this every year. I’m sorry I’m late but I (am) giving you some big fat turkeys so y’all can get your eat on for Thanksgiving.”
He also took photos with fans
“Snoop Dogg took pictures with over 800 people at the event,” Mayor Butts said. “We had a tented area for seniors to sit in, and the first thing he did was go over to take pictures with everyone there.” Snoop snapped photos with everyone and even gave out hugs. Inglewood resident Xiomara Payan was very excited to meet Snoop Dogg and take a selfie with him.
“This is a very big help for not only myself, but for about a thousand people,” Payan said.
Snoop Dogg’s presence helped nearly double the number of turkeys given away this year.
