After successfully releasing Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent, and Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella, Disney announced a remake of the classic story The Jungle Book. The studio is going to release a hybrid CGI and live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s book. The movie is set to open in theaters on April 15th, 2016.

A star-studded cast

In addition to the sharp and superb animations, the producers called big names to interpret the movie’s characters. Sethi will be surrounded by computer generated characters who are going to be played by impressive stars including Lupita Nyong’o, Idris Elba, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johannson, Ben Kingsley, and Christopher Walken. This wide variety of actors and actresses will be playing popular supporting characters, all in an animated movie that is set to bring back great memories. Idris Elba will voice Shere Khan the tiger, and Lupita will play Raksha the wolf.

“I really enjoy that process, playing a mother of this boy,” Lupita said in an Entertainment Weekly interview. “Just the love between a human and a wolf was something really cool to explore.”
