Her efforts were vain as she was mistakenly pushing mud into the well

The baby elephant was stuck for 11 hours
As a good mum, the elephant did not give up and kept trying to rescue her child

Villagers heard the cries for help and rallied around
At first, isolating the desperate mum was challenging. The villagers catered a truck of bananas to distract her while they were clearing out the sand around the well.
