Forget snakes, worm charming is where it’s at! This competition started in 1980 by a farmer’s son who found an incredible amount of worms in half an hour. Charmers or “fiddlers” are given a 3 by 3-meter area in which they must charm worms to the surface. The fiddler who finds the most worms in the allotted time is then deemed the winner. So what was the world record? Well, in 2009, 10-year-old Sophie Smith from Willaston, England raised 567 worms.
