Ronaldo was expected to appear in Martin Scorsese’s new movie called The Manipulator about the life of Italian real estate agent Alessandro Proto. Scorsese selected Ronaldo’s new apartment in the Trump Towers to shoot a scene. Ronaldo was initially supposed to be paid to play a small role in the film.
Too famous for the big screen
Proto finally objected to the Real Madrid striker being featured in the movie. He believes that Ronaldo’s popularity would distract the audience, and it seems like Martin Scorsese, the director, agrees with him. Proto, the millionaire who the book 50 Shades of Grey is supposedly based on said:
“I don’t want him in a film about my life. Martin Scorsese is in agreement with me. Cristiano Ronaldo is not going to be in the film. I am sorry if he doesn’t feel valued, but in life you win some and you lose some. If I really have to give him 20 million euros, I will give it to him with my own hands.”

Ronaldo will not have a chance to display his acting talents, but he is going to pocket the hefty sum of $22.5 million for allowing the crew to shoot a scene in his apartment. Channing Tatum is reportedly expected to replace Ronaldo. Some people die to have their big break in the movie industry, and others get paid millions of dollars to not appear in a movie.
