This plan implies disbursing the sum of $300m with the objective to reduce HIV infection among girls and young women in 10 sub-Saharan African countries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"content__main tonal__main tonal__main--tone-news\">\n<div class=\"gs-container\">\n<div class=\"content__main-column content__main-column--article js-content-main-column \">\n<h2 class=\"js-sport-tabs football-tabs content__mobile-full-width\"><strong>Eliminating HIV by 2030<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"content__article-body from-content-api js-article__body\">\n<p>One of UNAIDS&#8217; goals is to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030. Susan Rice believes that this goal will be attainable if\u00a0the problem is properly addressed:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNo greater action is needed right now than empowering adolescent girls and young women to defeat HIV\/Aids. Every year, 380,000 adolescent girls and young women are infected with HIV,\u201d Rice told the press.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At the present time, The President\u2019s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (PEPFAR), a program launched by George Bush in 2003, works with 65 partner countries and provides antiretroviral medicine to 7.7 million people worldwide. So far,\u00a0the US administration invested\u00a0$50 billion. The news was announced at a critical time as countries are adopting a set of global goals to\u00a0end poverty,\u00a0protect the planet, and\u00a0ensure prosperity for all\u00a0as part of a<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>new sustainable development agenda proposed at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afrizap.com\/en\/tell-everybody\">United Nations Sustainable Development
