It showcases exhibits of 120 artists and designers coming from a diverse range of creative fields, such as object and furniture design, graphic arts, illustration, fashion, architecture, urban planning, art, craft, film, photography, digital and analogue approaches. Its goal is to show how a new generation of Africans is giving the world a fresh perspective on their continent.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The world, and particularly Africa, is transforming<\/strong><\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12418\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12418\" style=\"width: 704px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-12418\" src=\"https:\/\/www.afrizap.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/12\/makingafrica_560.jpg\" alt=\"source\" width=\"704\" height=\"528\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.afrizap.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/12\/makingafrica_560.jpg 560w, https:\/\/www.afrizap.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/12\/makingafrica_560-85x64.jpg 85w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 704px) 100vw, 704px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12418\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/images.guggenheim-bilbao.es\/src\/uploads\/2015\/07\/MakingAfrica_560.png\" target=\"_blank\">source<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The world is changing with this generation: politically, economically, socially, culturally and technologically. <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cEspecially at Africa, where the changes are very evident,\u201d the exhibit description says. \u201cSpearheading this shift is a new generation of thinkers and makers whose multidisciplinary output proposes innovative solutions for the continent and the rest of the world \u2013 while simultaneously turning our traditional understanding of design on its head.\u201d <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0The exhibit does not try to present a full picture of design in Africa:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cComprising 54 nations, more than 2000 languages and cultures and a billion inhabitants, the continent is simply too large, too complex and too diverse. What the exhibition offers instead is a new story, one perhaps not yet known.
