It is a time to celebrate the supernatural in many parts of the world. In some countries, people dress up in costumes and decorate their houses with monsters, ghosts, and things to fend off evil spirits. But there are some places rumored to be haunted all year long. Do you dare to visit any of these spooky places?

1. Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town South Africa

source

Built in the 1600s by the Dutch East India Company, this castle is South Africa’s oldest colonial building. It was originally a replenishment station for ships crossing the cape. There are several spooky stories surrounding the castle. The image of a tall man was first reported in 1915. Someone else reported seeing him in 1947 and then it became a regular occurrence – people saw him jumping off the side of a castle wall and wandering around. People also saw a lady dressed in grey crying throughout the castle, but no one has seen her since a woman’s body was discovered in excavations. Another story is that of the mysterious death of governor Pieter Gysbert van Noodt: he sentenced seven soldiers to death and one of them cursed him, demanding he attend the execution. The governor did not come to the execution and was found dead later that day, slumped over his desk with a horrified expression. There are plenty more fascinating stories!

[/gallerypage]

[gallerypage]

2.
