Riyad Mahrez is a rising star. He was the Algerian Footballer of the Year, PFA’s Player of the Year, and a member of the Premier League PFA Team of the Year for the 2015-16 season. And, on January 6th 2017, he was named African Footballer of Year 2016. Despite his stardom, he generally keeps his family life private. You probably do not know much about his wife, 24-year old model Rita Mahrez. She prefers to stay out of the spotlight but she is gaining recognition for being a “Kim Kardashian look-alike.”

Married in a secret ceremony
Riyad met Rita Johal a couple of years ago and they married in the summer of 2015. Their ceremony was secretive and out of the public eye. Up to now, no photos of their wedding have been posted on social media.

A mystery lady
Very little is known about Rita’s life before marrying Riyad, other than the fact that she has modelled in the past and she started a business when she was 18. The business – Brentwood Medical Technologies Ltd – was created in her native Gravesend and dissolved two years after its founding.

Staying out of the limelight
Rita avoids the media. She was not seen publicly at the PFA ceremony when her husband received his award. And she has never given any interview about their relationship or discussed it with mainstream media. She does, however, regularly share photos on her Instagram account, which is private. Her account is mostly comprised of selfies, her shopping sprees, and supportive message for her husband.

A supportive wife
Rita has been supportive of Riyad since the beginning. Riyad shared that she had helped him settle down in the UK after he left French club Le Harve two years ago. She assisted him in learning English and continues to be supportive of her husband’s career. On her Instagram, she called him her “right side.” On another post, Riyad called his wife his “left side.”

A dedicated mother
The couple had a child very soon after they got married. Rita gave birth to their daughter in late 2015. They named her Inaya, which is an Arabic name meaning help, care, and protection. It appears that they wish to keep their daughter out of the limelight; there are not many photos of her online. Rita did post a photo of Inaya’s hand on her Instagram with the caption “1 half of the Love Of My Life.”
